Digital menu for restaurants with QR codes

A digital menu for restaurants is the menu your guests open on their phone by scanning the QR code on the table. At Meypi Developers, a software studio in the Barcelona metropolitan area, we build it with your restaurant’s brand and connect it to your kitchen: sold-out dishes can no longer be ordered the moment they run out and, if you want, guests order from the table and the order goes straight to the kitchen.

How does a QR code digital menu work?

Each table has a QR code. Guests scan it with their phone camera and the menu opens, with no app to download.

Many QR menus only show the dishes. Ours is connected to your kitchen: it knows what has sold out and, if you switch it on, lets guests order from the table.

What do your guests see when they scan the QR code?

From the QR code on the table to the dish in the kitchen, with your restaurant’s menu always up to date.

  1. They scan the QR code

Each table has its own QR code. Your guest scans it with their phone camera and your menu opens, under your brand and with no app to download.

  2. The menu for this time of day

They see the lunch or dinner menu, depending on the time, with its categories, its photos and the allergens of each dish.

  3. Sold out means off the menu

If a dish runs out in the kitchen, you mark it as sold out and it can no longer be ordered. Nothing to reprint, and no going round table by table.

  4. Each dish, their way

They choose the size, the extras and, for pizzas, half and half, with the price of each option. The dish’s allergens are in plain view.

  5. Ordering from the table

If you switch it on, your guest adds dishes to their order, with a note if needed, and sends it.

  6. Straight to the kitchen

The order joins the same queue as those from the dining room, the website and the platforms, and each station sees its part on its screen. At the counter, the screen shows their number when it is ready.

What your menu includes

Everything your guests need to choose, and everything your team needs so they do not have to explain it.

  1. Sizes and extras

Each dish with its sizes and extras, each with its own price.

  2. Set menus and photos

Set menus and combos, and photos of the dishes so guests know what they are ordering.

  3. Allergens

The 14 allergens in the EU regulation on every dish, with a record of every change.

  4. Menus by time of day

The lunch, dinner or weekend menu, each at its time, and different prices for eating in, takeaway or delivery.

  5. Sold out, instantly

Whatever runs out in the kitchen is marked as sold out at that moment and can no longer be ordered, with nothing to reprint.

  6. Your brand

Your logo, your colours and your name, not those of an app.

We set up your menu with you when you start.

How are allergens shown?

Each dish is marked with the allergens from Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 that it contains, and your guests see them on the menu before they order.

Every change is saved with its date, so you know what the menu said at any time.

  • The 14 in the regulation

Cereals containing gluten, milk, nuts, eggs and the rest, dish by dish.

  • In plain view

On the QR menu, on your website and on your team’s screens.

  • With a history

    Every change, with its date.

  • In step with the recipe

If an ingredient changes, it changes on the dish and everywhere it appears.

One menu or several?

As many as you need: lunch, dinner or weekend, each at its time. And a dish can have one price for eating in, another for takeaway and another for delivery.

All of them are changed in one place: the QR menu, the one on your website and the one in the dining room are the same menu.

  • Menus by time of day

Each menu goes live on its own at its time.

  • Price by way of serving

    Eat in, takeaway or delivery.

  • Set menus and combos

With their dishes and their options.

  • One single menu

The QR menu, your website’s and the dining room’s come from the same place.

  • Platforms kept up to date

Your menu, your opening hours and sold-out dishes also reach Glovo, Uber Eats and Just Eat.

How is your menu set up?

From your paper menu to a QR menu, with you.

  1. You send us your menu

With its dishes, prices and allergens, and how it changes with the time of day.

  2. We set it up with you

Categories, sizes, extras, photos and allergens, under your brand.

  3. A QR code per table

Each table has its own QR code, generated by the system itself.

  4. You decide on ordering

Menu only, or menu and ordering from the table: switch it on whenever you like.

  5. Your team, ready

They learn to mark dishes as sold out and to change the menu before the first service.

From the first service, you change the menu yourself.

When it is not worth it

If you only want to show the menu on a phone and will not take orders from the table, a standalone QR menu will do.

How much does a digital menu cost?

The digital menu is included in your venue’s monthly fee, together with the rest of the software. What shapes the fee:

  1. Venues

Each venue has its own fee.

  2. Channels

Whether, besides showing the menu, you take orders from the table, your website or the platforms.

  3. Devices

Whether you use your own tablets and printers or prefer the pack with installation.

We send you the proposal in writing, with the fee and everything it includes.

Questions about the digital menu

Do I need a new QR code when the menu changes?

No. Each table’s QR code stays the same and the menu changes instantly.

How are allergens added?

You mark on each dish which of the 14 allergens in the EU regulation it contains, and every change is recorded.

Does the menu also appear on my website?

Yes. Your website shows the same menu, so whatever you change appears in both places instantly.

Can guests order from the table?

Yes, if you switch it on. The order joins the venue’s queue and reaches the kitchen screen.
